From reference to written specification
A reference sample is useful, but it is not a specification. Translate it into ingredient priorities, sweetness, salt, aroma, texture, piece size and colour. Record what is essential and where adjustment is acceptable. Turning that reference into a written specification is the job of product development.
Choose packaging for the channel
A premium jar may suit a dining table but fail a courier cost target. A sachet may suit travel but require a larger print run. Review barrier, seal, opening, reseal, label area, coding and secondary packaging against the actual sales channel.
Approve in stages
- Confirm the written brief and commercial assumptions.
- Review a development sample.
- Approve the formula and intended pack together.
- Complete artwork and declaration checks.
- Agree the production sample, testing and dispatch plan.
