Bloating After Meals

What bloating means

The US National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases describes bloating as a feeling of fullness or swelling in the abdomen. Distention is the visible increase in abdominal size; the two can occur together or separately.

Why it can happen after food

Gas can build up when we swallow air or when gut bacteria break down certain carbohydrates. Eating quickly, fizzy drinks, constipation and some health conditions may also contribute. Different foods affect different people.

Where mukhwas fits

A familiar after-meal blend can be enjoyable and can help mark a slower finish to eating. That cultural role should not be confused with diagnosing or treating a cause of bloating. Research into individual herbs does not automatically prove that a mixed food product treats symptoms.

When to ask for help

Speak with a doctor if gas or bloating bothers you, changes suddenly or occurs with pain, constipation, diarrhoea, vomiting, bleeding or unintended weight loss. A clinician can assess the pattern rather than asking one ingredient to do too much.

Frequently asked questions

Can mukhwas cure bloating?

No general mukhwas should be treated as a cure. Bloating has many possible causes, and persistent or concerning symptoms need qualified medical advice.

Is some gas after meals normal?

Some gas symptoms can be normal, especially during or after meals. Frequency, severity and accompanying symptoms matter.
