The aroma of kewra
Kewra is floral but not rose-like. It has a green, airy and slightly fruity character that appears in sweets, drinks, rice dishes and festive foods. In an after-meal blend, it can make fennel and cardamom feel more polished.
Using it with restraint
Kewra is powerful. Too much makes every ingredient taste the same. A careful formula lets it lift chironji, pistachio, mishri or coconut while the seeds remain identifiable.
What buyers should ask
For private-label development, specify whether the brief calls for kewra water, food-grade flavour or another permitted format. Confirm dosage, label declaration, stability and sensory performance in the final pack rather than approving the aroma in an open laboratory sample alone.
